Damn I'm Tired

It's been a long day. Being Palm Sunday, we went to Mass at our usual time (9:30). Of course, it's a longer than normal Mass since we read the entire Passion from Luke, but no biggie. However, being Palm Sunday, that means dinner at my mom's. I don't know if it's just Italians around here, but Palm Sunday is something of a holiday. We exchange palms and get together for a huge meal at 2 in the afternoon. Perhaps it's just because Italians like any excuse to get together to eat and "talk". Which means speaking in very loud volumes to each other about all sorts of stuff.

Normally, that would be my day. However, tomorrow the band is providing music for our church's presentation of the living Stations of the Cross, which we call the Way of the Cross. The teens in the parish put it on so it's a great time. However, dress rehearsal was today. Further, with everything else going on, the band didn't get a chance to practice any of the music beforehand. Meaning I ran out of my mom's place at 3:30 and ran to church to rehearse with the band before rehearsing with the kids at 6 pm. So I left church at about 8 pm. Four hours of practice wears on you. And I was standing with a guitar the whole time.

So I'm incredibly tired right now. On the bright side, I got my bike readjusted this weekend. I had it's spring tune up completed last week and when I took it for a good 10 mile ride, I found the chain was skipping in the rear. Yesterday I brought it back and the shop dialed it in. We did a nice family ride (well, as nice as could be with 2 kids arguing with each other all the time) on the canal path. It was Ellen's first real ride of the season so we're getting her back in biking shape. It was good to get back out again. Next weekend should be nice and warm so hopefully I'll get another chance for a ride.

Since this is the start of Holy Week, I'd like to wish all of my internet pals a Happy Easter in advance. Hope you weather is very pleasant.

Oooh a bike ride along a canal? That sounds picture perfect!

A 4 hour band practise does sound like a bit of a workout. Best of luck with your gig at church today!

Happy Easter to the Rocker Guy and his family! :-)

Jude: It was very nice, though it will be better once there's leaves on the tree. And they groom the trail. Snowmobiles used it over the winter and the bumps were a little teeth jarring.

Thanks for the well wishes!

Hopefully the performance went well and this weekend is a little more relaxing.

It's always good to get out and ride. Clears the head. : )
4 day weekend here and i'm bored already. Not bored enough to want to go back to work but bored anyway.

Jammie: It went extremely well. We got all of the nervousness out at rehearsal and the teens got a lot of compliments. The band did as well. This weekend has been nice so far!
